I thought it would be fun to find out just what the most expensive item was on the site so I did a little hunting.  although not quite as expensive as the £324,000 Moller Sky Car - I have decided that the current most expensive item on the site that is actually purchaseable and more importantly actually really available – is the “Personal Wax Work” available today for just £150,000 from I want one of those.  How cool is that!?  Without further ado….

New Merchants

We have added several new merchants in the past few days in various sectors. We are please to work with Bravissimo – a lingerie company specialising in larger sized items from a D to a K cup. We also have CosyFeet a company who specialise in Comfy footwear for people with wide or painful feet. Finally for those of you who are getting geared up for summer – Sunshine Bits offer a huge range of summer garden accessories.
 

Category Changes

I have done some restructuring of the categories as there were merchants who’s products did not really fit into the category that I had originally put them in.  Therefore we have added – Bags and Cases (handbags, suitcases etc), Lingerie (bras, knickers etc), High Street (Marks and Sparks, Littlewoods), Party and Fun (Fancy dress, party goods etc) and finally Footwear (shoes, trainers flipflops etc).  Should make for some simpler navigation.

Plans for our blog

We would like to start our blog by explaining some of the history about Pricenab.  Pricenab is run by one person, a programmer, who enjoys challenging and rewarding projects.  After working for several years in the web development field – the topic of database management regularly rears its head.  Retail price comparison is an obvious candidate to trial and test data management on a large scale due to the sheer numbers of shops out there and the number of products they offer.  Your average cd and dvd store might have upwards of 100,000 products for sale at any one time.  How does this amount of data get searched and indexed easily and quickly and more importantly without huge database processing power behind the scenes?  Thats what pricenab is all about and I hope to provide loads of insight into what we do in the future

What is Pricenab?

Put simply… Pricenab.com is about the biggest shopping portal out there. We focus on UK shops and we categorise MILLIONS of products from those merchants. In fact at the time of writing – we currently have a database of just over 2.1 million products from nearly 600 merchants.  Our shopping portal gives you complete luxury to find and compare unique items from shoes to golf clubs and then present a price comparison and full product review where possible.
